Senior Developer
Job Description Job Purpose The Senior Developer's work primarily affects the "outward facing" departments of Customer Service and Sales, since they are the front-line support and marketing vehicles for the products developed by the Product Development department. Sales and Customer Service personnel need to be kept apprised of the status of bug fixes, feature enhancements, and overall web site health, and the Customer Service department relies on the incumbent to provide high-level technical support. Responsibilities Develop, maintain and support Microsoft .NET Web applications. Will be the primary technical resource for nearly all of the company's products and services. System Design and Improvement: envision and recommend changes and enhancements to the company's production web sites. Knowledge of New Technologies: write applications or scripts that interact with different technologies and platforms. Will need to learn new technologies quickly and independently, and will need to use help resources (documentation, user forums, telephone support) when needed. Bug Hunting: quickly and correctly diagnose and resolve software bugs. Have stable, well commented code for all programs, scripts, and web sites Have accurate time end effort estimates. Timely support applications or systems that are in production or testing. Have a constant focus on improvement. Have a positive team orientation; give and take constructive feedback in code reviews and group training exercises with peers. Think strategically and holistically Knowledge and Experience Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field. 3+ years of Microsoft ASP or ASP.NET web development. Significant experience developing in Microsoft C# and Visual Basic. Familiarity with Internet application design concepts, including distributed components, multiple-tier systems and session management Mastery of HTML, client-side JavaScript, MS ASP, ASP.NET, C#, and ADO programming. Microsoft IIS web site creation and maintenance. Microsoft SQL Server database administration, programming (stored procedures) and maintenance. Strong customer management skills and ability to understand translate and define complex technical requirements and recommend solutions based on those requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools. Microsoft MCP or MCSD certification a plus. Schedule This role offers work from home flexibility of 1 day per week.
