**Description**
Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior API and Integration Developer to play a critical role in advancing our corporate-wide data integration strategy. In this position, you will lead the development of innovative solutions to connect business applications, modernize legacy systems, and build scalable APIs. Collaborating with cross-functional teams within IT and across all Global Practices, you will drive seamless data connectivity across the organization and provide technical leadership in API design and integration.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead the integration development lifecycle – from design and development to deployment and support – ensuring efficiency and agility.
+ Partner with stakeholders to design and implement integration solutions that align with business objectives.
+ Analyze and assess complex business requirements to address technical challenges and ensure successful delivery.
+ Design and build APIs using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and tools like RAML, Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, and MUnit, incorporating CI/CD best practices.
+ Develop and execute test plans (unit, integration, and performance) while providing operational support, including troubleshooting, in accordance with SLAs (including after-hours support as needed).
+ Identify and mitigate project risks proactively to ensure smooth project execution.
+ Establish and refine integration standards for development, governance, and operations.
+ Drive continuous improvement in API and integration strategies.
+ Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the integration team.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
+ Minimum of 8 (eight) years of hands-on experience in integration development, including iPaaS solutions such as MuleSoft.
+ Proven track record of developing custom connectors (e.g., ServiceNow, CRM).
+ Experience with TLS/SSL, OAuth, and other authentication protocols.
+ Strong knowledge of OpenID Connect, Maven, and MUnit.
+ Expertise in SOA, REST, SOAP, WSDL, JSON, and XML technologies.
+ 3 years of development experience in Java (J2SE/J2EE) or Python preferred.
+ Solid background in database programming and relational databases (SQL, Oracle PLSQL).
+ Familiarity with DevOps tools (Azure, GitHub).
+ Proficiency in messaging frameworks like Kafka, SQS, Pub/Sub, IBM MQ, or RabbitMQ.
+ Microservices architecture experience is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience designing and architecting secure, enterprise web services using agile methodologies.
+ Proven ability to deliver scalable, reusable, and reliable integration solutions.
+ Expertise in logging, security, auditing, and policy management within integration systems.
+ Background in supporting production applications and adhering to SLAs.
+ Experience working with ERP, CRM, and other cloud/on-premises systems.
+ Knowledge of CI/CD practices and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
+ API Gateway experience (e.g., Apigee, MuleSoft API Gateway, AWS API Gateway) is a plus.
+ MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level (Mule 4) certification is a plus.
