Job overview and responsibilities

United is seeking a lead developer with a strong database and data analytics background in Chicago, IL for our Pricing ang Revenue Management systems building automated planning and reporting tools for the next generation revenue management system.

This position will work closely across our development and enterprise teams. We are interested in someone who knows or is willing to learn concepts of Airline Revenue Management, including pricing and passenger forecasting. A key competency is using this knowledge to:

Collaborate closely with the various technical and data analytics teams and business partners to support pricing and revenue management data needsExpand revenue management data warehouse and analytics capabilitiesKnowledgeable about new technologies (Ex: Gen-Ai, Machine Leaning, Natural Language Processing)Ability to prioritize work independentlyEager to ask questions, admit mistakes, and learn new thingsWilling to challenge existing methods and ideas with better solutions

QualificationsQualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or something similarA minimum of 7-10 years of SQL programming experience across database platforms including Oracle, MS SQL, etc. Proficient with AWS Redshift, RDS, and other AWS apps including Glue, EC2, S3 and Dynamo DB Strong knowledge and experience with Python Proficient in data analytic tools such as Power BI and Spotfire Skilled in Microsoft’s SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)Strong understanding of source code control tools (Gitlab) and branching modelExperienced and hands on understanding of System Design PrincipalsMust have legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without requiring sponsorship.Additional Qualifications  Strong understanding of enterprise data landscape with an airline focus Experience with NoSQL Database like Mongo Db, Elasticache and understand the core concepts of NoSQL DBStrong understanding of Spark framework
