We are currently hiring for a Senior Development Director in our Eagan office.  The Senior Director will serve as a player/coach within a team of 4 staff who lead all aspects of our Heart of Twin Cities campaign.  This position will have direct responsibility in generating revenue by soliciting corporations for sponsorships/partnerships and individual donations.  The campaign includes our signature Heart Ball (gala) event.  Will provide direct coaching and supervision to 3 fundraising staff. 

 

This is a fast paced sales type of position with the main accountability of driving revenue in support of our mission. We also offer a hybrid schedule!


We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to X% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers

Responsibilities Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships and individual donations.

Guide and direct assigned staff to reach goals.

Identify, recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership including implementing a year-round cultivation plan.

Develop profiles on the top businesses within the Twin Cities market with a documented plan to secure their involvement.

Implement event logistics based on national best practices.

Work closely with a Communications Director to develop and manage a promotion/communications plan for the campaign.

 

Qualifications 5+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience.

1+ years of experience in a management capacity. This experience may occur within the 5-year related experience requirement.  Experience gained through direct internal work on American Heart Association projects/priorities may substitute for this requirement and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations, and similar narrative pieces.

Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.

Ability to do daily travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.

Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office.Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
