As a Senior DevOps Engineer, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager for DevOps, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling engineering teams across the organization, helping execute platform-wide initiatives to modernize and scale Olo’s infrastructure. You’ll consult with a diverse group of engineering teams to understand their specific challenges and help architect practical, efficient solutions to support performance, stability, and developer velocity.
As the Platform SME for Data Operations, you’ll be the go-to resource for supporting data management pipelines, tools, and projects. You’ll work with Development teams to review existing strategy, recommend solutions and provide input into architectural design and execution.
You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or at Olo’s headquarters in NYC.
What You'll DoAct as a Platform SME for Data Operations, supporting Elasticsearch, NoSQL, BI, Data Science and data management projects.Contribute to architectural discussions with technical and organizational leadership groups.Take the lead on large/complex projects, including co-ordinating resources and communicating with internal stakeholders & team/departmental leadership.Partner with engineering teams on a project basis to understand complex business problems and architect and implement solutions.Solicit feedback from internal consumers across product and engineering teams to understand the challenges they face, and help design platform products that meet these customer needs.Collaborate with other Platform teams to build and continuously improve foundational platform offerings.Help define, document and implement platform-wide standards and best practices.Participate in an on-call rotation as escalation point/SME for serviceWhat We'll Expect From You5+ years experience in software engineering, devops, site reliability or similar role. 1+ years experience in a hands-on technical leadership roleProficiency designing, building and managing services within a mature production environment, including production supporting pipelines and toolingSignificant hands-on experience managing Elasticsearch clusters in production including capacity management, indexing strategy, and support of related applications and consumer teamsExperience designing and implementing ETL pipelines and BI technologies (e.g. Snowflake/Databricks, Redshift)Experience recommending and implementing NoSQL technologies to solve for business problems (e.g. Mongo, Scylla, Cassandra) Experience writing code in one or more modern programming languages. (C#, Java, Ruby, Python, Javascript, Go)Experience working with containerization technologies in production (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, ECR, ECS, EKS)About Olo

Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $125k-170k annually for a Senior I and $136k-185k annually for a Senior II, depending on the experience you bring and your location.
