Overview
The IT DevOps Engineer - Cloud Engineering role has knowledge of and performs both development and operational tasks to maintain application assets. This role works with developers, architects, and app teams facilitating operations, development, and testing functions by continuously automating and streamlining the system integration and deployment processes. Essential Functions
Coding, deploying, and supporting large scale, serverless architectures, which will include
Designing and developing enhancements to applications when identified by the creation of new components
Designing and developing automation when the opportunity arises
Designing and building DevOps CI/CD pipelines
Prepare and present system documentation and analysis as well as write SQL queries to troubleshoot application problems
Building, deployment, and source code maintenance of new versions of applications in the cloud hosting environment
Systems Administrator duties such as SSH into individual servers to review logs and triage problems and leveraging monitoring solutions such as Splunk, New Relic, or other monitoring tools to support delivery teams in effectively debugging applications
Setting up resources such as load-balancers and compute instances
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Prepare and present technical presentations and system process documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with services such as Compute, Storage, and API Management
Full stack development experience with technologies such as React, Redux, and NodeJS server-side development using ES2015
Knowledge of designing and building fully automated DevOps CI/CD pipelines
Experience using automation servers like Jenkins, GoCD, TravisCI etc.
Ability to define Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines using JSON or YAML and understand designing incremental promotion across environments
Strong understanding of Python/Go and Bash/PowerShell scripting
Experience writing scripts to automate mundane tasks
Strong understanding of Linux/Unix + Windows
Database awareness: NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB), Relational (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Experience in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts and implementation with Terraform
Experience implementing Policy-as-Code and event driven security in cloud environments
A working understanding of enterprise networking concepts like CIDR
Code, deploy, and support large scale enterprise-grade architecture
Experience designing, configuring, and deploying applications
Understanding of complex applications, micro-services, and serverless use cases
Experience with Kubernetes
Excited about trying new solutions

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology related areas
Technical certificates are a plus
Minimum 3 years of experience in complex cloud solutions environments
