Job Description:

The Senior Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining the Novellus (Speed and Altus) and SVG (7K & 10K) toolsets and related equipment at Microchip’s Tempe manufacturing facility.  Additionally, the Senior Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting and repairing unscheduled failures, completing engineering projects, and accurately communicating all maintenance activities in EMS.

This is for a CWW (compressed workweek) front-night shift, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Swing every other Saturday, 6:00pm to 6:30am, 12 hour shifts with 18% shift differential. Benefits begin on first day of hire.

Requirements/Qualifications:

·        Possess an ASEE or ASET degree or Military Equivalent. Greater than ten years of experience working in the semiconductor manufacturing Diffusion/CVD/TF area.  The candidate must have at least eight years of experience working on the Novellus platforms.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will have greater than five years of experience working on at least 2 of the following platforms:

·        WJ

·        Tempress

·        SVG (SVP & RVP)

·        Skilled and experienced in mentorship and training of Technicians on the Novellus and SVG platforms.

·        Understands and can troubleshoot complex electronic/electro-mechanical circuitry and related components.

·        Has the ability to demonstrate strong written/verbal communication skills.

·        Must possess strong knowledge of electronic component operations.

·        Understands the application and usage of various measurement tools (i.e., Oscilloscope, DVM, etc.)

·        Possess a solid/strong mechanical aptitude.

·        Must understand and is familiar with precision optics and mechanical assemblies (robotics).

·        Experienced with and follows chemical safety procedures and protocols.

·        Member of ERT team.

·        This is a safety sensitive position

Essential Physical Functions and working conditions - Must be able to:
○ Lift 75 lbs.
○ Work in full PPE gown, gloves, face shield for long periods
○ Work on a 6 foot ladder
○ Bend, stretch and contort to repair items on the tool. Work bent over with head and arms below waist level
○ Work on knees or lay down to repair tool
○ Required to use a respirator
○ Use basic hand tools
○ Standing on hard surfaces for long periods on metal or concrete floors
