The Senior Digital Consultant is responsible for developing and implementing digital transformation and innovation strategies. In collaboration with colleagues, this role involves staying updated on digital technology trends, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), and integrating insights from various areas within Nedbank's Corporate and Investment Banking to create and deliver measurable business value. The position is part of the in-house Digital Consulting team, which leads digital transformation efforts. The team comprises individuals with diverse skill sets who work together to achieve objectives aligned with the digital strategy.
Job Responsibilities Support /lead digital strategy formulation of technology-related projects of varying complexity, and size. Conduct guided research and distil large volumes of information on topics such as trends in digital channels, AI use in Corporate Banking, etc and the application of new technologies, to produce key insights for executive leadership Identifying and driving complex, high-value digital transformation initiatives across the organisation Identifying client challenges and crafting solutions that deliver real value. Providing insights on mid- to long-term digital innovations to step change our competitiveness, including novel digital business models and emerging digital technologies Facilitating the development of our ‘AI factory’ through a process of identifying use cases by engaging with colleagues and business leaders, scoping the use cases, defining value drivers, and assisting with the implementation of AI PoCs and other digital technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and customer service, to ensure seamless integration of AI technologies. Scale established AI capabilities and shape the future of custom AI solutions. Combine commercial awareness with a solutions-oriented mindset and bridge the gap between problem identification and transformative AI implementation. Drive the adoption of digital technologies within assigned projects and business areas. Provide input into training curricula, certifications, and competency assessments related to digital technologies. Schedule and conduct skills assessments, create learning paths, and report assessment results to management. Guide and coach team members on adopting and applying strategy consulting standards, methods, tools, and techniques. Manage business aspects of tools related to AI and digital transformation, including participating in proof-of-concept tests and compiling business cases for new tools. Analyse, compile, and report on interventions and track progress on continuous improvement initiatives.Specific AI Technologies (Ideal):
Generative AI: Develop and implement generative AI solutions to enhance client engagement through tailored marketing campaigns and tailored product recommendations. AI-driven Process Automation: Utilise AI to automate complex processes, such as reviewing legal documents, generating summaries, and flagging potential issues. Advanced Analytics: Leverage AI-powered advanced analytics to gain deeper insights into business operations, customer behaviour, and market trends. AI Development Factory: Collaborate with AI / Robotics development factories to rapidly develop and operationalize AI use cases.Core consulting competencies:
Knowledge of the latest technology advancements (preferably in Financial Services/ Corporate and Investment Banking and AI) based on previous experience and interest in the latest innovations Consulting skills, e.g., solid financial and business acumen, structured and abstract thinking, analytical and creative problem-solving, project management, prioritizing, communication, and stakeholder management Strong personality, presentation and communicative skills Fluent in English- spoken and written Proven affinity with Digital/IT and Technology (e.g., in your schooling or work experience) Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees Preferred QualificationRelevant qualification in process/business analysis from one of the industry certifications and endorsed education providers
