Description of Work Unit
Colorado State University seeks a Senior Director to lead a new Center that will support accessibility and inclusive educational technology needs across campus. This Center will be housed under the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President, and it will work closely with and complement the work of other units, such as The Institute for Learning and Teaching ( TILT ), the Office of Equal Opportunity ( OEO ), the Office of Inclusive Excellence, the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), Libraries, Facilities, and the Office for Civil Rights Compliance. The Senior Director and Center staff will assure CSU complies with legal mandates and support faculty and units in ensuring all electronic communications and coursework are accessible.

Position Summary
Are you a visionary leader passionate about leveraging technology to make education accessible for all? We’re seeking a Senior Director to launch our new Accessibility Center. You’ll shape the strategic direction, build an innovative team, and partner across the University to weave accessibility into every aspect of our work. The new Center Senior Director will provide strategic direction and oversight for IT accessibility services at CSU . This high-level position will be responsible for staying abreast of best practices for IT accessibility and assistive technologies, assuring CSU complies with all legal mandates, and coordinating with University stakeholders to develop and fully integrate accommodation and IT accessibility throughout CSU . With a user-focused and universal design lens, the Senior Director will also lead the integration of the Assistive Technology Resource Center ( ARTC )and the remediation and accommodation services from the Student Disability Center ( SDC ) to the new Accessibility Center.
This position involves management of a central campus unit and its staff as well as significant independent decision-making and extensive partnering with units and individuals across the university.
The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience, a deep understanding of IT accessibility best practices and regulations, and the ability to build relationships and consensus among diverse stakeholders.
The Center Senior Director is a 12-month full-time position.
Required Job Qualifications
+ Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
+ Ten or more years of years of progressively responsible experience in a related field.
+ Demonstrated success managing complex operational projects and strategic initiatives involving diverse stakeholders.
+ Demonstrated experience in and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
+ Ability to exercise sound judgement, tact, discretion, and integrity with sensitive and confidential information.
+ Deep understanding of IT accessibility landscape "including in operational activities, supervision, and leadership "
+ Understanding of recent and emerging laws governing IT accessibility in higher education.
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Fourteen or more years of years of progressively responsible experience in a related field.
+ Experience supervising and leading large and complex teams of at least 10 employees .
+ Experience related to budget oversight.
+ Demonstrated commitment to advancing student support and success.
+ Commitment to CSU’s Principles of Community.
+ Demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Engagement with and connection to national initiatives and trends related to accessibility and inclusive educational technology.
+ Skill and comfort with data and assessment.
+ Familiarity with and commitment to the Land Grant Mission and its purpose.
