Senior Director, Analyst (Professional Services Strategy & Operations Expert - Remote -India)

About the Role:

As a Professional Services Strategy & Operations Expert for Tech CEO clients, you will be a trusted advisor who guides Gartner clients in the technology industry to solve complex challenges and deliver on key priorities.

As a former CEO of a professional services organization, you will provide insights and recommendations through top practice research and advisory experiences that guide our tech CEO clients in the core strategy and operational considerations for market-leading consulting and/or professional services delivery. Your expertise will cater to the unique needs and situational context of service-focused tech provider organizations between $10 - $500M (USD) in scale in terms of services-attributed annual revenues. While insights and expertise will be services-focused, client scenarios may span service offerings not only from pure play service providers, but also from product-centric companies with service-related offerings as a part of their portfolio.

A Senior Director Analyst serves as a leader within Gartner Research and Advisory, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional, and global levels. Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, a Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research that Gartner clients apply to propel their business. They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging them via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations. Through a steady cadence of client-focused research and interactions, Gartner analysts wake up each day knowing they have an opportunity for game-changing impacts with our clients – an experience that is truly unique.

What We Are Looking For:

Prior experiences as a CEO with the primary responsibility of setting the vision and operating principles for a successful, profitable professional services business.A successful track record setting the vision for and realizing core professional services business strategy and operational process top practices for organizations spanning $10 - $500M (USD) in annual services-attributed revenues.Experiences navigating through key challenges that prevent the scaling of successful services-centric companies with a proven track record of driving services traction for organizational growth.Exceptional communication and persuasion skills to apply Gartner’s research to client situations, and often challenge clients to adjust their priorities.

What You Will Do:

Conduct research to develop actionable and objective insight targeting tech CEOs and their teams.Author unique, thought-provoking, actionable, and highly leveraged “must-have research” content through various media.Advise tech CEOs and founders on scaling the business and prioritizing investments.Collaborate through the provision of high quality and timely peer review of colleagues’ research content as we collectively put unique and actionable research in the hands of our clients.Help startup, growth and scaling tech CEOs to develop approaches and methods to establish and scale their organizations.Help experienced founders to stay ahead of the market by assessing market and technology trends and providing guidance to shape service offerings / delivery for our clients spanning strategy, go-to-market, and business management approaches.Provide sales support to help drive engagement with prospects and clientsDevelop in-depth analysis to identify and diagnose the root cause of a client’s barriers or overall needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forwardProvide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area via virtual or face-to-face interactionsWork collaboratively with a globally distributed team of analysts establishing research positions.Bring provocative, independent insights that can evolve the research agendaCreate and deliver high-value presentation materials on and off stage for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefingsBe client-centric while actively seeking to help clients engage regularly and often with Gartner research and interactionsBe a mentor and a coach by supporting more junior team members

What You Will Need:

12+ years of relevant field or industry professional services experienceBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceDirect, recent experience as a tech CEO / founder within a professional services organization is highly preferred.Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area as well as the interplay in that marketDemonstrable executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and other stakeholdersStrong communicator who is able to explain complex concepts concisely and simplyAbility to work independently, while also collaborating across teams and supporting the workflow of others, in a multicultural global teamA desire and ability to author unique, Gartner-proprietary research effectively and succinctly.Intellectual agility, curiosity, courage to push boundariesStrong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverablesStrong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questionsProficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challengesStrong business and financial acumenEnjoy challenging and being challenged.
