Senior Director, Employee Benefits - SLC Management

What is in it for you:

Responsible for overseeing the design, management, and implementation of the company’s health, welfare and wellness programs as part of the company’s Total Rewards package. The role is responsible for recommending plan design and program changes to drive employee engagement and help improve employee physical, mental, and financial well-being in a cost-effective manner. 

Partners across HR functions, with our Sun Life and SLC business partners and external vendors to develop, implement and administer innovative, business-oriented solutions with measurable outcomes that optimize our financial investment and deliver a modern, compelling, and integrated rewards experience for each employee at moments that matter. Stays current in external trends, including technology and analytics/ measurement advances and industry trends.

What you will do:

Support the implementation of global benefits and related strategies and programs, optimize benefits across the SLC platform and identify opportunities to align practices to asset management industry.Partner with US, Canadian and affiliates Total Benefits and Wellness teams to support and deliver programs in alignment with business, HR, and Total Rewards priorities.  Builds strong relationships with HR Business Partners and Business Leaders. Provides consultation and partnership to identify needs and priorities. This may include conducting market research, internal analysis, establishing design principles, building design alternatives, outlining implications through modeling, determining employee and cost impacts, and creating communication and transition plans.Works collaboratively with HR and Communications teams to develop and implement effective communication and change management plans to enhance the employee experience and perceived value of our programs.Recommend plan design changes based on benefits claim data, plan competitiveness, and company’s goal of improving the physical, mental, and financial health of employees while enhancing the success of the organizationEnsures programs are in compliance with required legislation and ensures strong governance and records management processes are in place.Monitors external developments and trends impacting employee reward programs and proactively identifies strategies and tactics to respond.Key member of M&A teams for HR due diligence evaluation and implementation.Oversee health and welfare plan compliance with all federal laws (including ERISA, COBRA, and Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) as well as applicable state and local regulations

What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, CEBS preferred.10+ years of experience in managing benefit programs for a mid-size to large organization with 5+ years managing a direct staff.Strong leadership skills, able to adapt to changing priorities and engage and develop a team to deliver on key objectivesAction-oriented, focused on execution, improving our employees’ experience through continuous improvement, and operational excellenceHighly collaborative team-player, experienced in managing complexity and interacting with colleagues within the HR function, outside vendors, and brokers/consultantsProven business acumen to guide decision-makingExpert knowledge and experience in the area of employee benefits and wellness plans and compliance

For roles based in NYC the salary range for this position is up to $269K.
