Senior Director, Mobile Engineering
Overview This role is based in the U.S. and Remote Foot Locker Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Mobile Engineering (IOS/Android), you will be responsible for all aspects of the engineering functions for customer-facing iOS, Android Mobile/ Social apps for the Foot Locker banners in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions. You will report to the Vice President of Omni Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader to create technology driven transformation that drives strategic value for Foot Locker. You will be creating internal engineering teams and establishing an engineering culture to create delightful customer experiences. Responsibilities Must be obsessed with delivering results, insist on high standards, possess a knack for thinking big and “finding a way”, and an external awareness and curiosity to innovate and disrupt. Passionately drive business outcomes, craft model app experiences that enables delightful customer experience Establish multi-year roadmaps, highlighting current gaps and anticipating and fulfilling future business and customer needs for the digital capabilities such as eCommerce, Mobile and Customer Care. Lead and build out a team of software engineers creating impactful iOS, Android, and responsive-adaptive web experiences. Provide technology thought leadership and advocate development standards/frameworks in a test-driven development environment, to maximize quality, efficiency & productivity. Establish efficient working model with Digital Technology group, UX/UI, product management and other teams to influence, create, and design unique mobile experiences to a passionate customer-base. Establish engineering backlog for new features, technical debt resolution and new ideas. Champion processes for estimating work, managing budget, and leveraging internal teams and external partners including offshore. Architect our to scale while also allowing for quick iterations to rapidly deliver value to our internal and external customers. Partner across teams to ensure maximum scalability and extensibility of the mobile/social applications and overall digital commerce platform. Collaborate with business and consumer insight teams to prioritize and deliver critical capabilities and enhancements that drive measurable results. Recruit, develop and retain an exceptional mobile team. Utilize exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills to lead and communicate organizationally. #LI-RD1 #LI-REMOTE Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field required, Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in Mobile app development for iOS and Android. At least 4 years experience working within a product-oriented delivery organization, including budget management At least 3 years experience leading multiple development teams in mobile retail commerce, supporting multiple storefronts, and handling the production support of those properties. At least 3 years experience in agile, rapid application development, release processes and related tools. Working knowledge of modern native development languages such as Swift and Kotlin, as well as hybrid frameworks such as Ionic, React Native, PWA, or similar technologies. Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental software design principles. Track record of successfully leading software development for large scale digital commerce business. Benefits The annual base salary range is $210,000 - $250,000 / year.This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short and long term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
