POSITION SUMMARY This position designs, implements, and coordinates all aspects of physician recruitment for the system, including NP and PA recruiting, strategy development, assessing the organization’s physician needs, and establishing recruitment processes. Assesses physician needs at all levels of the organization and develops solutions to recruit physicians. Partners with leadership teams across the system to ensure that current and future physician recruitment needs are met. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of staff. Holds management staff accountable for achieving plans and performance targets and ensures that established goals are achieved. Works with staff to identify and resolve the most complex issues and problems impacting initiatives and operations. Develops staff to ensure continued professional growth and to provide the competencies the company needs to support its growth and long-term success. Articulates and demonstrates an expectation for continuous quality improvement utilizing processes that include consideration of all stakeholders. Fosters an environment that focuses on processes and outcomes. 2. Hires, trains, conducts performance evaluations, and supervises the workflow for designated staff. This includes initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. Establishes priorities, workloads, controls, and work procedures. Regularly evaluates and determines resource needs. 3. Partners with stakeholders across the system to identify and respond to current and future physician recruitment needs through effective strategy development. Identifies and develops shared understanding of regional and national physician hiring trends. 4. Networks and benchmarks within the industry to recognize and report new sourcing and recruitment opportunities. Identifies best practices and integrates as appropriate into system-wide strategies and programs. Continuously identifies innovative recruitment solutions and develops and implements new programs and strategies. 5. Leads and supports designated operational plans through project planning, communication and action that support the organization’s overall strategy. Recommends policy changes and works to standardize processes across the system. Monitors and maintains compliance with all organizational policies, guidelines and federal regulations related to physician recruitment. 6. Directs continuous process improvement in support of consistent service delivery across the organization, ensuring quality deliverables and alignment with customer expectations and needs. 7. Provides a standardized recruitment infrastructure for marketing/advertising, educational and employment opportunities, tracking applicants, recruitment, and hiring processes and reporting and communicating results. Collaborates with, legal, contracts, information systems, and finance to assure efficient and effective use of system resources as well as system-wide integration of physician recruiting and human resources principles and activities. 8. Manages multi-million dollar recruiting budget to ensure business needs are met while internal staffing levels and expenses are aligned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent level of education and experience with physician recruitment and/or physician HR. Expert-level working knowledge of physician recruitment principles, practices, and operations as normally obtained through a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible managerial experience, including a minimum of two years management level experience within a healthcare system, medical group, or staffing agency. Must demonstrate expert-level knowledge and awareness of area of expertise in designated facility, business entity or area and/or experience in which the knowledge, skills, and abilities are directly transferrable. Proven track record of driving successful performance outcomes and accomplishing organizational recruitment and staffing goals. Must demonstrate skills and business acumen through direct leadership experiences such as: Anticipating and responding to the needs of internal and external customers; managing a budget and financial plans; building partnerships with management, staff, and stakeholders to achieve department goals and objectives; managing problems and situations where uncertainty is inherent; persuading others to adopt a particular stance on an issue; developing and evaluating best practices and emerging trends for organizational applicability and appropriateness; constructing new and innovative solutions for complex and varying problems and situations while considering the larger perspective or context; mentoring and coaching staff by providing open and honest feedback to enhance performance; developing and implementing strategic goals and initiatives that support organizational success; demonstrating excellent human relations, organizational and communication skills; demonstrating a passion about continuously improving and providing high quality care and service excellence to customers, patients, families, employees and/or physicians. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to effectively supervise professional staff. Familiarity with regional communities, hospitals, physicians, and multi-state legislative healthcare issues is preferred.
