Senior Director, Segment Sales

We are looking for a Sr. Director, Segment Sales to join our IP Sales Division. This role will be based in China reporting to the VP Segment Sales – Asia. This is an amazing opportunity to manage a local sales team that is essential in meeting our customers' requirements while at the same time achieving the company's significant revenue and profit goals.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

Master’s degree plus at least 10 years’ related sales leadership experience in a comparable industry and/or to a comparable customer base, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 7 years’ experience negotiating large-scale, complex, and high-value contracts.

Ability to develop a deep understanding of Clarivate’s strategy, solutions, and client base to successfully execute in your region.

Leads regional meetings; participates in strategic planning & sales leadership meetings.

Strong forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and planning skillset with ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile and draw meaningful conclusions and action plans from data.

Ability to articulate the full Clarivate value proposition clearly and compellingly.

Proven experience using Salesforce and the Microsoft Office suite of products

Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams and demonstrated success managing in a matrixed environment

Excellent organizational skills, with ability to mobilize resources across a matrixed organization to reach shared goals.

Professional sales experience in an IP setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships.

Proficiency in written and spoken English.

What will you be doing in this role?

Developing. Develops, own and implements strategic sales plans for their region, whilst working collaboratively with peers for cross selling, and upselling across all solutions. 

Overseeing. Oversees Account Managers in developing and sustaining key relationships to maximize revenue and business opportunities, participating in negotiations as appropriate.

Overseeing. Oversees complex deals, assessing financial considerations, support infrastructure, margins, impact on territory and other relevant factors.

Hiring. Hires, manages, motivates, coaches, and develops a high performing Account Management team and holds team accountable against performance goals.

Working. Collaboratively working with product leadership and marketing leaderships to create and shape new product development, assist with go to market strategy and product enhancements.

Leading. Leads regional sales meetings; participates in strategic planning & sales leadership meetings.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours from 9am to 6pm, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.  

This is a hybrid position working in the office up to 3 days a week.
