The Opportunity

The US Brand Lead, DMD is a senior leader accountable for leading all brand initiatives for launch and commercialization in the U.S. market.  Success in this position will require an ability to closely collaborate with cross-functional partners including regulatory, CMC, medical affairs, patient advocacy, other commercial functions and regional general management and other functions as required.  Additionally, this position may serve as the leader of the launch sub-team.

What You Will Contribute

Serve as US brand lead for DMD with an additional focus on global and regional product positioning and brand strategy and planningRecruit and develop marketing talent for AvidityPartner with franchise and program leadership to:Develop and execute on our launch planning processLead the planning, content development and facilitation of all the upcoming Launch Readiness ReviewsEnsure strategic alignment and collaboration across all functionsIn partnership with medical affairs, patient advocacy and other commercial functions:Build a disease and product marketing plan for patients and HCPsDevelop disease education and product message platformsDevelop all brand elements including core positioning, visual and digital branding and creative ensuring consistency across all touchpointsSelect and oversee management of advertising and production agenciesDevelop print and digital promotional materials.  Shepherd all assets through the appropriate regulatory, medical or promotional review processesProactively foresee, identify, and facilitate the resolution of marketing issuesLiaise with insights and analytics team to identify knowledge gaps and formulate plans to address outstanding program needs, providing input into and at times leading market research projectsConduct Advisory Boards and focus groups with Key Opinion Leaders, Regional Opinion Leaders and Patients/CaregiversLead key strategic initiatives focused on the patient journey from symptom presentation to optimal careDevelop KOL and HCP communication channels, including a Speaker’s BureauDevelop and manage the U.S. marketing budget for the brandOversee the brand P&L and recommend incremental investment areas across all functionsPartner with franchise leadership to provide a point-of-view on lifecycle investments and strategiesThrough our matrix environment, represent DMD in portfolio strategy effortsCollaborate with sales leadership and sales operations to provide training, tools, and support for effective product promotion’Work with marketing competencies to drive omni-channel, digital and patient marketing effortsSupport message platforms for market access, patient services and other functionsDevelop and implement post-launch marketing strategies based on real-world data (to drive adoption, increase retention and enhance patient experience)Engage in additional projects and increasing the scope of work as directed by marketing leadership and global program heads

What We Seek

Minimum 10+ years of sales and marketing experience in the biopharmaceutical industry working with orphan or ultra-rare diseasesBA/BS degree in science or relevant field Launch experience in the U.S.Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, and proven track record of driving tactical execution within department, internal cross functional teams and external partnersExcellent analytical and creative problem solving, strategic analysis and planning capabilities, and involving complex situationsHighly developed oral and written communication skills and organizational habitsSuccessful experience achieving and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rulesProven ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders including KOLs and patient advocacy groupsStrong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with people individually and in groups; ability to communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues; experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships across departmentsExperience in a small company and high growth, fast-paced environmentTeam leadership experience within a cross-functional matrix environmentAbility to travel as needed for 50% of the time What We will Provide to You:The base salary range for this role is $264,200 - $292,500. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.Avidity offers competitive compensation and benefits which includes the opportunity for annual and spot bonuses, stock options and RSUs, as well as a 401(k) with an employer match.
