Senior Director, Wellbeing Experiences

Lead the Charge in Community Wellbeing: Innovate, Inspire, and Transform Lives - the YMCA is now hiring a Senior Director of Health & Wellbeing Community Experiences!

The Senior Director of Health & Wellbeing Community Experiences is a key member of the Health & Wellbeing leadership team, who will work cross-functionally across group fitness, sports & aquatics, membership and marketing to create community-driven wellbeing programs that drive improved health outcomes for our members and participants. This role will innovate new programs that leverage the power of the Y’s community and its position as a leader in fitness to drive member retention and increase awareness among prospective members through experiences and programs both inside and outside of our hubs. This role will oversee the Y’s group fitness strategy, leading the development of a strategic approach to group fitness classes that achieve member satisfaction and revenue goals. This role will also oversee new business strategies related to engaging hyperlocal health & wellness leaders and influencers through mutually beneficial partnerships, expanding our offering beyond fitness to include mental, emotional and social wellbeing programming. 

Salary starts at $115,000 per year with full-time benefits and opportunities to grow within the organization!

Scopes and Responsibility 

Lead a team of fitness specialists in using data to create an optimized group fitness strategy for the association. Drive transformation of fitness strategy on site, supporting team with staffing needs

Partner with Hub Executive Directors to understand local programming needs and create omnichannel fitness programs utilizing program partnerships with Peloton, Les Mills and others to build buzzworthy, locally relevant, always-on programming.

Define a scalable hyperlocal partnership strategy with a small team of health & wellbeing community activation specialists to engage local leaders in and outside of the Y to support our members with innovative programming and drive new membership growth

Design signature health & wellbeing events and moments to keep the YMCA top of mind among members and prospects

Partner with Sports & Aquatics teams to utilize hyperlocal and programming partnership assets across all health & wellbeing programs

Create annual health & wellbeing experiences calendar and partner with Brand Engagement team to drive marketing plans

Maintain a comprehensive database of all fitness programs at the association

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business management, communication, event management, hospitality or related field 5+ years in program or service leadership in the health & wellness space with a track record of innovation and execution Ability to translate internal speak into business presentations and plans anchored in broader strategy Forward-thinking and customer obsessed with a desire to stay ahead of customer trends, predict/forecast customer needs and translate to strategy Demonstrated ability to test-and-learn, try fast/fail fast Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to develop and delivery strategic plans Proven ability to keep working moving during times of ambiguity or change

Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor Completing all child abuse prevention training, as required
