The Power, Energy and Infrastructure vertical will focus on borrowers in the domestic energy and climate transition space, extending project and corporate finance loans for the construction, operation and ownership of renewable and conventional power plants and associated infrastructure. The Senior Director - Business Development (SDBD) is primarily responsible for generating new financing opportunities by developing extensive, deep and tenured relationships with developers, owners, and operators of renewable and conventional power plants, as well as private equity firms and other firms that participate in the power and infrastructure space that result in repeatable new opportunities. The SDBD is an accomplished, self-motivated individual possessing expert credit acumen with prior successes readily acknowledged by market participants. **The Work Itself** · Originating, leading, structuring, underwriting and executing renewable and conventional energy transition financing transactions. · Manage workload, assignments and scope via pre-loan meetings with appropriate Portfolio and CF Management, as necessary. · Review and assist with underwritings, pre-close memos and material loan modifications · Pre-screen new business opportunities and assist with preparation of, and participate in, all Initial Deal Reviews (IDRs) · Establish and maintain relationships with referral sources in the project finance and renewable energy sectors, including private equity firms, project developers, investment banks and consultants **The Skills You Bring** · Bachelor’s degree preferred; masters preferred. · 10+ years relevant experience in bank project finance lending credit fund origination role · Must have experience in first-lien power and infrastructure project finance transactions, including solar, wind, battery and gas-fired generation · Must have deep knowledge of power and infrastructure industry in order to find creative, sound lending solutions. · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Ability to distill complex ideas and communicate across organization. · Understands political environment and anticipates peripheral effects. · Routinely asked to communicate to larger groups on behalf of business unit or function. · Strong relationship building skills. **How We'll Have Your Back** * Ally's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
