GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr. Director HRBP leads and executes key initiatives that support the strategy of our EssilorLuxottica Oakley HQ including Mfg. Plant Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, R&D, Design, Product, Marketing and onsite shared services, with 1,500+ employees located in Foothill Ranch, California. This position is also responsible for Oakley Mfg. Operations in Tijuana, Mexico. This role implements HR strategy to meet business objectives across all facilities/functions. Ensures clear setting of HR expectations, responsibilities, and mutual accountability for key business results. This is an on-site role in Foothill Ranch, California.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborates with HR teams, program, policy, and process owners to deliver effective HR initiatives that align with best practices. Leverages data analytics, trends, HR and business KPIs to develop and implement HR strategies to progress the business in a systematic manner. Leads and coaches a high impact HR team who drives culture alignment & change across a fast-paced business. Partners with NA operations/corporate/global HR to drive development and implementation of integrated solutions that ensure operational excellence. Coaches and develops leaders to attract, retain and motivate talent. Works with leaders on identifying key talent internally and externally to fill vacant & upcoming senior level roles. Understands economic, political, and external factors that influence HR strategy as they relate to competitiveness, attractiveness, and retention. Maintains knowledge of business challenges/opportunities both at the organization and functional business unit level. Understands the short and long-term goals of the organization and the brand. Leads process for organizational design changes, restructures, integrations, change initiatives and workforce and succession planning execution. Builds HR Budget and looks for opportunities to optimize costs and operate in the most effective manner. Remains current and maintains all regulatory and legal changes regarding HR compliance. Leads projects related to the business unit’s compensation and performance management process to reward and retain people who continue to make valuable contributions to the organization. Frequent travel to Tijuana facility to maintain a hands-on sponsorship of ongoing, growth, evolution, and connection to the main headquarters in CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. 12+ years of progressive HR experience with 5 years in leadership role. 5+ years of experience working in a mfg., engineering, or supply chain environment, with experience supporting a large hourly mfg. workforce. HR Generalist experience, with demonstrated history of working cross-culturally and within a matrix organization to gain strategic alignment and drive impactful results. Experience in organizational design to link talent strategy to the business strategy to drive results. Demonstrated business acumen: track record of successful partnering with management. Demonstrated strategic thinking: able to communicate, develop and implement HR/change management initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated influence and diplomacy. Adaptable to changing business requirements. Experience working in a global environment, particularly with multiple locations and prior experience with Mexico Ops.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in HR or related field and SHRM or HRCI certification. Bilingual English/Spanish

​Pay Range: 185,628.15  - 251,629.97 

 

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
