Job Summary:
Responsible for leading a team of nursing professionals and coordinates inpatient, ambulatory and continuum of care nursing practice across the enterprise in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Promotes nursing excellence through the continuous improvement of quality, safety, patient experience, and effectiveness of nursing practice. Promotes organizational learning, rapid dissemination of key learnings, and the sharing of knowledge and talent across the system. Leads inter-professional collaboration through dyad and triad partnerships that ensure the coordination and standardization of evidence based and best practices.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a member of the nursing leadership team to operationalize the nursing strategic plan to improve nursing practice, clinical outcomes, and organizational performance. Leads through planning, directing, prioritizing, managing, and monitoring major systems and change processes for key priorities. Collects, analyzes, and disseminates data to measure the impact of system changes, monitor improvement, and achieve expected outcomes. Develops appropriate methods to promote, identify, and disseminate clinical and management innovations through publication, presentations, and networking with key stakeholders, both internal and external. Develops and implements communication plans, deployment strategies, and education tools for standard implementation and sustainability. Evaluates trends, innovations, standards, and conceptual models for impact on professional nursing practice and applicability to clinical practice. Promotes clinical scholarship and practices transformation through the facilitation of nursing research, evidence-based practice, continuous improvement, and innovation. Develops and provides directions to system, regional, and ministry practice council leaders and teams to help ensure adoption and use of evidence-based practice (EBP) that aligns to system standardization and the system operating model. Collaborates with finance to manage budget for nursing initiatives to annual goals. Oversees the coordination and development of nursing administration departmental annual budget. Assists with the development and renewal of departmental contracts and vendor relations. Supports standardized education and training programs. Collaborates with the clinical education team in the implementation of learning programs for internal teams and ministry stakeholders to enhance professional competency (e.g., educational assessment, planning, and outcome evaluation). Maintains knowledge and complies with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, licensure, accreditation requirements, record procedures and internal controls to support nursing practice. Utilizes nursing analytics to promote consistent improvement in empirical outcomes. Manages team to ensure strategic initiatives are implemented, in line with standard work processes, and are adequately progressing towards ministry, regional and organizational goals. Identifies and prioritizes initiatives and opportunities and measures the impact of current operations and improvement initiatives. Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's scope of service. Recruits, engages, develops, leads, and manages assigned staff. Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Nursing with Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline.EXPERIENCE
Seven years’ registered nurse experience, with five years of demonstrated leadership responsibilityREQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
