**Job Summary**
Advancement at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Senior Director of Development! The Senior Director is a key partner for the College of Engineering and Applied Science and is a crucial part of the Office of Advancement. The Senior Director demonstrates a high level of independence and expertise in advancing fundraising efforts for the College of Engineering and Applied Science advancement team.
This position is responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring a small team of 2-3 with at least 1 frontline fundraiser and some programmatic/admin staff while also carrying a personal portfolio of donors within an assigned region.

**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
**Portfolio Management and Donor Engagement**
+ Develop and manage a portfolio of 40-60 individual prospects capable of making gifts at a major and principal gift level. At this level, the portfolio is expected to be mature and stable with about 1/3 of the portfolio in the discovery phase.
+ In partnership with the Assistant Dean, develop annual goals around development work (face to face meetings, proposals, dollars raised, and assists).
+ Develop strategic plan for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding each donor, collaborating with the system's gift planning team, colleagues and academic partners when appropriate.
+ Regularly travel (8-10 trips a year) to visit with donors to achieve established goals and metrics.
+ Document prospect strategies and contact reports, evaluate new prospects and help generate stewardship reports and general correspondence to cultivate major gift prospects.
+ Serve as advancement liaison to one academic program or department within CEAS.
**Team Leadership and Management**
+ Complete all aspects of managing and leading a small team. Examples include:
+ Provide coaching and mentorship, especially to new team members.
+ Assist with developing proposal and visit strategy.
+ Carry out administrative personnel actions (performance management, hiring, training, onboarding, offboarding, etc.).
+ Collaborate on annual metric setting and provide regular feedback to help employees meet goals.
+ Serve as a member of the Advancement Management Team. Attend scheduled meetings and collaborate with colleagues on a regular basis.
+ Serve as member of Assistant Dean's leadership team.
**Other Development Duties as Assigned**
+ Grow philanthropic totals by deepening collaboration with advancement and other campus colleagues for enhanced donor engagement. This involves participating in regular internal meetings and engagement opportunities (task forces, frontline fundraiser meetings, etc.).
+ Work closely with the dean, academic partners, faculty and volunteers to develop and implement fundraising strategies in order to meet established goals and objectives.
+ Facilitate positive relationships daily between donors and CU administrators, faculty and staff to ensure efficiency of programs.
+ Represent the University at events to support CU and cultivate donors.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**What You Should Know**
+ This position will occasionally be required to work evenings/weekends.
+ This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days on campus and some days remote.
+ This position requires local, regional, and out-of-state travel to meet with donors.
**What We Can Offer**
The salary range is $120,000 - $130,000 annually. Relocation assistance is available within Advancement guidelines.

**What We Require**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
+ 4+ years of professional, job related experience including 1+ years of team lead or supervision experience.
