Western Alliance Bank is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of IT Strategy, Operations and Risk for our Technology Division. This person will be responsible for overseeing IT governance, risk and compliance (GRC); IT business operations including finance, vendor management, performance measurement and reporting; IT training, communications, engagement and recognition (in partnership with HR); and IT project management/agile center of excellence.The successful candidate will lead a team of 30-40 professionals across these disciplines.Oversee IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) to ensure regulatory adherence and risk mitigation. Manage the relationships with the second and third lines of defense, as well as external regulators.Manage IT business operations, including financial oversight, vendor management, and performance measurement and reporting.Collaborate with HR to drive IT training, communications, engagement, and recognition programs. Lead the IT project management office and agile center of excellence to ensure successful project delivery and continuous improvement.Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the technology division's efficiency and effectiveness. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team.Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.10-15 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing and leading teams.Extensive experience in IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), IT business operations, and IT project management.Strong understanding of financial management and vendor management within an IT context.Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver results.Strong financial acumen and experience in managing IT business operations.Excellent vendor management skills and experience in performance measurement and reporting.Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team of professionals.Experience in IT training, communications, and employee engagement programs.Expertise in IT project management and agile methodologies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.Benefits you’ll love:
