Position Summary

\n

The ATL Hub currently has a job opportunity for aSenior Director-Operations. As a Senior Director of Operations for the ATL Hub, you will direct, manage, and lead a highly motivated staff of exempt and non exempt employees. All while ensuring service and key quality performance objectives are achieved.

\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nStrategic Vision:\n\nDirect operations for ATL including extensive ramp operations, auto sort, facility maintenance, and import processing.\nManages operational plans and activities that result in accomplishing business strategies.\nEnable and manage the achievement of service performance that meets or exceeds network and customer expectations and differentiates DHL from the competitors. \nManage the effective implementation and use of advances in systems and technology, to enhance service, cost position and productivity.\nSupervises, coordinates, and provides leadership to, and reviews the work of, Operational Leaders and senior professional level subordinates. \nCreates workforce and staffing plans and ensures availability of human capital necessary to accomplish planned business results.\n\n\n

Internal/External Relationship Management:

\n\nCommunicates with some or all of the following business units: systems operations control, load control, facilities maintenance, sort, ramp, gateway and USCustoms to ensure efficient and safe operation of the Hub.\nMaintain good relationship with Customs Regulatory bodies and be able to exert influence on issues and policies with a view to represent the interest of DHL. \nIdentifies, establishes and maintains productive commercial working relationships with key internal and external contacts, cross-business working groups and all relevant third parties\nTimely communication of service improvements and operations changes to the Network. \n\n\n

\n\nDevelop a high performance service culture within the organization that nurtures and encourages service excellence, engagement, cost consciousness and quality based on our CIM 21stCentury Manager principles and Respect and results. \nIdentify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department. Trains and develops managers for succession\nExecute developmental and career planning processes for the operations team, complete appraisals and all applicable development plans\nPeople manager, able to lead and motivate the team to drive continuous improvement of processes and practices, along with levels of customer satisfaction\nDemonstrate critical interpersonal relations and judgment skills in working with the various constituents throughout the organization.\nLead the team in a manner that is consistent with DHL cultural expectations (positive, decisive, sense of urgency).\n\n

Skills & Qualifications:\n\n\nBS/BA in related discipline and 10+ years experience in related field\nDegree in Logistics or Transport (or equivalent)\nExperienced in Regulatory Compliance for Air Operations, Customs Border Patrol, Transportation Security Administration\nExhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy\nAbility to work a variety of shifts within a 24 hour operation\n\n\nLocation: Atlanta, GA\n\n\n\n**Travel less than 10%**\n\n\n
