The Director of Special Projects will drive Vistra's nuclear growth initiatives through strategic project management and growth projects.This role requires an experienced project management leader to execute complex nuclear projects including uprates, new construction, and behind-the-meter innovations.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Lead strategic nuclear projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and quality requirementsDefine project scope, deliverables, and success metrics in partnership with key stakeholders and executive leadershipOversee project budgets and resource allocation while maintaining rigorous cost controls and performance standardsDrive cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative solutions for capacity expansion and operational efficiencyDevelop comprehensive risk management strategies to ensure project success and regulatory complianceImplement best-in-class project management methodologies to optimize execution and team performanceProvide executive-level reporting on project status, milestones, and strategic outcomesEducation, Experience, & Skill Requirements
20+ years related experience including nuclear and commercial construction, project management, engineering, outsourcing, contract management, finance, nuclear operations, and business strategy. Nuclear construction experience (at least 5+ years working with >$1B Major projects or uprates)Commerical construction experience (e.g., commercial buildings nuclear sites); 5+ years (required)Finance or Project Controls at least 5+ years; previous division CFO (preferred)Division business strategy lead, 5+ years Bachelor's of Science in Engineering (required)Senior Reactor Operator License or Certification (required)Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (required)Significant travel requiredLocated at the Vistra Sierra OfficeKey Metrics
