The Role

As a Senior Sales Director with Lumen, you will be responsible for staffing and directing a sales team providing leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth.

Iowa Minnesota Illinois WisconsinOhioMichiganNebraska#WFHIA#WFHMN#WFHWI#WFHIL#WFHMI#WFHOH#WFHNEThe Main Responsibilities Develop and participate in account planning and identify strategic opportunities which lead to the penetration of new accounts and increase and grow existing revenueReview business plans, sales strategies, and action plans for identified accounts to ensure objectives, goals, win strategies, schedules, and action assignments are clearly defined.Maintain rapport with key account leadership and establish new relationships across the entire account baseDrive the strategic direction and growth of the company by providing support to the sales team, with the ultimate goal of accomplishing sales objectivesCollaborate on overall tactical and strategic plans to secure new revenue and maintain and grow current revenue base.Develop and maintain account plans and detailed financial forecasts.Conduct accurate sales forecasting and achievement of sales targets.Oversee the creation of campaigns designed to penetrate key accounts and target markets, while identifying new targets, markets and opportunitiesContribute to overall database of prospects, as well as formulation of on-going programs to facilitate sales initiatives and knowledge of industry trends and assess market and competition.Build a high-performance team: hire and retain the right talent in the right roles; set goals, delegate work, hold reports accountable; develop and empower direct reports to make decisions and take actionDemonstrate Company’s values, maintain a positive open demeanor, encourage different points of view, move team forward through change; provide timely information; communicate context for business decisions; recognize accomplishments; foster teamwork and collaboration.Participate and engage in programs that ensure the attainment of expense objectives and recommend programs to control and correct budget overrunsWhat We Look For in a Candidate

10+ years of relevant experience in the Technology/Telecommunications industry. 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of applicable education and experience required

Minimum of 8+ years of demonstrated sales management experience in telecommunications/ Technology sales and sales leadership experience. Typically, 12+ years of relevant experience with 5 years of experience as a Director.

3 to 5 years of business/financial experience

Exceptional strategic planning, account management and contract negotiations skills required

Experience in consultative sales techniques and account planning including account profiling, account positioning strategy, customer needs analysis, sales opportunity development, service improvement planning, and long-range account management strategies.

A clear track record for consistently exceeding revenue goals. 

Proven ability to hire, manage and motivate successful, solution-oriented sales teams. 

Strong record in developing and assigning geographic territories and customer/prospect modules. 

Demonstrated leadership ability, people-management and mentoring skills.

Experience at being a strategic member of sales management team who contributes significantly to growth and development of the business. 

High energy level and demonstrated drive to succeed

Compensation The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$138,410 - $230,680 in these states: NE 
$145,690 - $242,820 in these states: IA  OH  WI 
$152,980 - $254,970 in these states: MI  MN 
$160,260 - $267,100 in these states: IL 

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
