Senior Director - Technical Sales

As the Senior Director – Technical Sales, you will be responsible for driving, leading and managing technical sales globally, in line with the strategic company direction. You will deliver results and grow revenue by influencing customer technical decisions and consistently enhancing the Wesco technical brand for all Wesco business units (UBS, CSS, EES) in all major geographies. You will be responsible for retaining current customers and partnerships as well as developing and attracting new customers. You will be responsible for providing leadership and vision, recommending and sharing changes, trends and productizing solution sets in line with market and regulatory changes. Additionally, you will focus on current and emerging technologies which will enhance Wesco’s global value proposition in our target markets. 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading, developing and executing our technical sales strategy globally. Manage a team of experienced Technical Sales Professionals globally. Responsible for setting and ensuring measurable annual individual performance objectives for their direct reports and teams. Advertise the Wesco technical story globally to impact customer decisions. Maintain reporting of key performance indicators (KPI), analysis of KPI’s and reporting to senior management. Contribute to the development and execution of enterprise-wide Technology strategy and ensures its alignment with Wesco goals. Liaise cross functionally across the organization and globally to shape organization and future strategy for growth to support business requirements. Develop succession planning & talent management strategies for the sales organization. Communicate with Engineering, Applications Engineering, Marketing, Category Management, Supply Chain Services, and Quality Assurance divisions of any product problems, opportunities, software bugs or emerging customer needs. Deliver presentations to ‘C suite’ level and at industry events / tradeshows. Develop & maintain relationships with Tier 1 vendor partners at senior technical level. Foster an environment that promotes proactive problem solving among the Wesco staff globally. Oversee and collaborate with other Technology staff to provide consistency of services and implementation of best practices

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required; Masters Degree - MBA preferred 12-15 years of experience working in technical project management  10 or more years’ experience in the technical field of expertise in design, implementation 5 years or more of experience leading a team of at least 6 direct reports including Manager Level Employees  Possess a customer-centric mindset Possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to make decisions within the designated area of responsibility Experienced public speaker with strong presentation skills at 'C Suite' Ability to travel 25% - 50%
