The DMLM (Direct Metal Laser Melting) /CAD Process Engineering Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment with a focus on standardization. You will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in both short and long-term planning, on time delivery to the customer and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Drive the industrialization of new technology and the integration into additively built hardwareProvide direction and leadership to DMLM process engineers and CAD engineers. Promotes collaboration between the teams and ensures alignment within the organizationReview short and mid-term development plans, working with people leader to establish staffing plans to ensure sufficient manpower and skillset is available to support a variety of simultaneous development programsBe a stakeholder in communicating product/program status, strategies, risks and recommendations to customers and senior leadersEstablish effective performance measures that can be used to alert site leadership on program plan updates. Coordinate, and if necessary, expedite recovery plans & actions where deviation to commitments existsDrive cross functional collaboration (Operations, Design Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, Suppliers, etc.) to identify issues and drive proactive resolution using problem solving techniques through integration of FLIGHT DECK.Support manufacturing facilities to industrialize additive manufacturing supply chain processesDevelop technical solutions and partner with other IPT technical leadership to implement and transition products to high volume production facilities.Identify and execute projects to increase quality and decrease part manufacturing costProvide manufacturing consultation on any new work coming into the ATC including initial development schedules, resource needs and cost predictions to aid in key strategic decisionsCollaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to develop and optimize additive component design and producibility reviews for additive components to ensure manufacturabilityDevelop and build a team committed to lean and applying new technologies to our processesPromote professional growth, inclusive and collaborative teaming with timely performance feedback and coachingRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years of relevant Manufacturing and/or Engineering experience.Desired Characteristics:Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 2 years of experience in a management position, leading a team.Prior experience with manufacturing process development, ideally TRL/MRL process experienceExperience with additive technology/manufacturingKnowledge of mechanical design, ability to review drawings with understanding GD&TEstablished project management skills.
