Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL PURPOSE: Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Senior Donor Engagement Specialist for Individual and Corporate Giving develops, plans, and implements fundraising strategies and programs for individuals, small businesses, and corporate donors. Managing a full-time Manager of Memberships and Annual Giving, and part-time MAG Council Liaison, the position will help MAG grow and sustain programmatic and institutional support through annual solicitations, membership and patron programs, special events, and an annual gala. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** **Build new and sustain existing relationships with individual donors.** + Collaborating with the Director of Advancement, identify, prioritize, and solicit donors and prospects capable of contributing gifts of up to $25,000. + Through a minimum of 125 (annually) face-to-face personal visits, cold calls, telephone conversations, and email correspondence, initiate and/or strengthen relationships to MAG donors and prospects. + Working with the Membership Manager, with assistance from the Special Events department, execute a series of donor events: four Director’s Circle events/year, three exhibition opening receptions, up to one domestic trip/year, and other donor events as assigned. + Collaborating with Special Events department, execute an annual gala. **Build new and sustain existing relationships with corporate donors and small businesses.** + Working under the guidance of the Director of Development, establish a robust corporate and small business giving program. + Conduct research to identify prospects and understand giving motivations to make effective cases for support. + Develop relationships that lead to successful solicitations for programmatic and institutional support. + Collaborating with the Special Events department, execute an annual event for corporate and business partners. **Build new and sustain existing relationships with MAG members and the MAG Council.** + Supervise the Manager of Memberships and Annual Giving to grow the membership program, managing communications (invitations, solicitations, renewals, acknowledgments) and calendar of exclusive member activities, plus up to four compelling annual appeal solicitations per year. + Collaborate with MAG Council leadership and supervise Council liaison to support Council activities, communications, and programming, including the annual Fine Craft Show, Art and Treasures, and quarterly activities. **Administration** + Partnering with key museum staff, develop tailored and persuasive proposals, solicitation letters, and pitch decks. + Ensure updated and accurate donor acknowledgement on the website, signage, materials, press releases etc. + Track relevant correspondence to maintain accurate and complete records of donor contacts and communications. **Other duties as assigned** **QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor’s degree required. + 5 years of relevant experience is required, or a combination of education and experience required. + Strong management skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to bring out the best in staff preferred. + Exceptional writing, communication, and interpersonal and relationship-building skills, plus impeccable attention to detail preferred. + Ability to think strategically and analytically and effectively close gifts preferred. + A collaborative, creative team player who is eager to contribute wherever needed preferred. + Highly organized and self-motivated with strong initiative preferred. + Ability to safeguard confidential information preferred. + High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity preferred. + Ability to work occasionally on weekends and evenings preferred. + Background or strong interest in advocating for visual art and culture is preferred. **EOE Minorities / Females / Protected Veterans / Disabled:** The University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion to advance the University’s mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create – and Make the World Ever Better.
