About you
Are you passionate about contributing to large-scale defence projects? Babcock Australasia is seeking an experienced Senior Draftsperson to support the delivery of our largest-ever contract, designed to equip the Australian Defence Force with cutting-edge capabilities.
In this role, you will lead and mentor the drafting team while taking a hands-on approach to producing engineering drawings. You will ensure a high standard of accuracy, quality, and compliance with program requirements.
About the role
As the Senior Draftsperson, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our project by leading and overseeing the drafting team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
You will be responsible for creating and reviewing detailed engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with program requirements.
Additionally, you will prepare and maintain status reports, ensuring all work aligns with key program milestones and timelines. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
Extensive relevant experience in technical/engineering roles Possession of a relevant technical vocational qualification in a related field Proficiency in applicable engineering toolsets, specifically AutoCAD, and strong computer skills Competence in creating drawings in accordance with the DEF(AUST)5085 drawing standard Proven team management and leadership skills Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance, as defined by AGSVA guidelines
