Project Editor for Secondary and Higher Education

4-5 days per week (30-37.5 hours)

Learning is a lifelong journey. From the moment we are born, we start learning and developing, helping us progress in life. At Pearson, we are committed to supporting this journey and doing everything we can to make it happen. Are you ready to join us?

If you’d love to work at the world’s largest publisher of online and offline study materials, this is your opportunity to become part of Pearson Benelux. As a Project Editor, you thrive in a dynamic environment with varied tasks. Your motivation is to deliver high-quality products and services for secondary and higher education. Our portfolio consists of both print and e-learning materials, including translations of international educational bestsellers and locally developed products by Dutch and Flemish authors. To ensure their relevance, these learning materials are regularly updated. They are always created in collaboration with educators, ensuring they align perfectly with the needs of education.

What will you do as a Project Editor for Secondary and Higher Education?

Support publishers and take shared responsibility for the development, guidance, and updating of our publications—from concept to final product (print and digital). Select and assess submitted materials, ensuring the quality of text, didactics, visuals, and design up to publication. Guide authors through the development and writing process, manage external contributors (such as freelance editors, translators, and designers), evaluate their work, and handle all communications with them. Monitor project schedules and budgets closely. Source visual materials for products, including rights and permissions. Support the market introduction of publications and contribute to marketing strategies. Collaborate effectively and flexibly with publishers and other departments, such as Sales, Marketing, and Production.

In this role, you will coordinate the editorial and production processes of our learning materials (both print and digital) up to publication. You are result-oriented, accurate, and have an enthusiastic, proactive "can-do" mentality. You have a keen eye for detail and can set priorities and make decisions under time pressure. Digitally proficient, highly responsible, and a true team player, you also enjoy working independently. Quality, inclusion, and collaboration are at the core of our values.
