Your Role:

 

As a Senior EHS Specialist you will provide EHS support directly to those departments and employees involved in the GMP manufacturing of liquid Cell​ Culture Media, Supplements & Buffers​, materials handling warehouse activities at the Dekalb facility. Specific responsibilities include:

 

Conduct EHS-related training for affected employees within departments handling cell culture mediaEnsure departmental personnel are competent in performing Risk Assessments and ensure necessary Risk Assessments are completedIdentify risk reduction methods and work with site management in implementing those methodsConduct safety inspections and ensure departmental personnel are competent in performing safety inspectionsInteract routinely with site management, supervision, and personnel on EHS related mattersRespond to and assist in investigation of employee injuries and area emergenciesMember of the Emergency Response Team with some on call duties

 

Physical Attributes:

 

Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, respirator, and glovesWalk and climb steps routinelyMay require work in ambient temperature and humidity environments

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or other EHS discipline 5+ years of experience in EHS in an ISO environment

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

Certified Safety Professional (Board of Certified Safety Professionals) Process Safety Managementknowledge of industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, including OSHA and EPA guidelinesExperience in public speaking, including conducting meetings and providing training for site personnel
