Senior Electrical Controls Technician

What you will do:

Maintains electrical systems and equipment (such as switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, fans, batteries, chargers, rectifiers and inverters).

Maintains station and unit level electrical control systems and their components such as PLCs, HMIs and control networks and system end devices (such as motor controls, pressure transmitters, pressure switches, temperature sensors, limit switches, solenoids and actuators).

Maintains safety systems and their components (such as ESD panels, gas detectors, flame detectors and manual activation switches).

Completes reports accurately and completely.

Directs other qualified employees in the performance of routine electrical controls-related activities.

Recognizes and reacts to abnormal conditions associated with duties.

Assists in planning work and contributing budget related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process.

Consistently works in a safe, responsible manner and actively participates in safety related programs.

Actively participates as a work group team member and maintains a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.

Performs work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as the Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to NFPA 70 National Electrical Code (NEC), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.

Who you are:

You have the following education and/or experience:

High school graduate or equivalent education.

Associate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent education and/or experience.

Five years directly relevant training and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License.

Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.

Residency Requirement:  Must reside within 30 Miles of the assigned reporting location.

Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, be on call and standby, and travel overnight as required.

Desired Qualifications:

Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as an Electrical Controls Technician.

Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.

Able to work independently with little direction.

Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.

Willing to assume responsibility and take initiative to resolve issues.

Working knowledge of operations used in the maintenance of these facilities.

Proficient in the use of standard office software applications.

Able to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honestly and openness are valued.

Proven ability to drive and perform job safely.

Innovative problem solver without compromising SOPs.

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
