Job Description
Electrical Designer is responsible for the detailed drafting design and checking the technical requirements of electrical components associated with process modules and equipment, including 3D modules and 2D drawings. This position provides feedback and technical guidance to other designers of different levels on the team
ResponsibilitiesProvide design services by gathering information, making studies, computing calculations, and preparing detailed design and deliverables in accordance with project requirements.Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.Gather information, make studies, compute calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposals.Coordinate design criteria with engineering, providing layout skid packages including MCC building, cable tray and lighting layouts, and motor schematic drawings.Investigate pertinent design factors, such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements.Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to codes, regulations, and standards, procedures, specifications, critical interface compatibility, producibility aspects, and dimensional accuracy of calculations.Check for conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and economy of fabrication, and identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies.Coordinate assigned engineering and design work with other project groups.Recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.Participate in project planning and execution, man-hour estimation, and schedule development.Supervise and provide technical direction to intermediate and junior designers.Essential SkillsElectrical Design experience of 10+ years using AutoCAD2D.Understanding and working through control panels.Experience working with MCC Builds, switch gear, high voltage (120 up to 5kv), designing lighting programs, cable sizing, and working on field packages.Experience in designing gas plants or heavy oil facilities.Familiarity with CEC, NEC industry regulations, and standards.3D understanding; however, the primary focus will be on 2D drawings.Additional Skills & QualificationsManufacturing experience (modular experience world).Experience with Delta-v.Proficiency in Bluebeam.Knowledge of UL Codes.Work Environment
This is a full-time office environment, working within a team of 40 people. The role involves working on big projects with a streamlined process. The first week involves familiarization with templates and understanding the workflow.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $67.00
