HDR is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team serving the Nebraska/Iowa Market.

Our team is looking for a candidate to meet the needs of our diverse client base including Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Science and Technology, Federal, Industrial, Mission Critical and Commercial clients. We have a team with diverse experience and are actively seeking candidates with experience within one or more of the markets we serve. This individual should also have a desire to mentor and train younger electrical engineers. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading a team and designing projects from start to finish. This will include coordinating and working closely with clients, project managers, electrical team members, architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, marketing staff, and all other team members. They will be responsible for developing construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations, and performing RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, site investigation and overall construction administration. Passion, self-motivation, and strong leadership skills are a must to deliver technically excellent design solutions for our clients. On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Electrical Engineer will also be expected to:

• Provide detailed designs and coordination of facilities with team members

• Act as the electrical lead on many projects

• Prepare construction documents with BIM/CADD platforms

• Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule

• Edit and prepare design specifications

• Review fee estimates, cost opinions, and write technical documents

• Perform QA/QC review of construction documents and technical reports

• Select equipment using vendor software and communicate with sales reps

• Track and meet design budgets

• Perform load calculations

• Attend and lead design meetings with other team members

• Provide construction administration service throughout all phases of construction

•Direct the activities of other electrical engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering (Electrical emphasis)or related fieldPE licenseMinimum of 10 years of related experience; this must include a proven successful history of designing lighting and electrical systems for various types of buildings including one or more of the following: healthcare, laboratory facilities, federal, water/wastewater, utility, mission critical, and commercial office facilities.Strong communication skills, self-motivated and organizedProficiency with Microsoft Office productsWork both independently and with a project teamSome travel will be requiredAn attitude and commitment to our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

BIM/Revit experience is highly preferredExperience in sustainable design/LEEDLocal candidates are preferred
