As a Senior Electrical Engineer, the main priorities are project delivery and execution. You will deliver work to our clients successfully and with technical and engineering excellence. As part of the development, design, and coordination of engineering projects, you will be able to manage both medium and large-scale projects and play a client-facing role. It is desirable that you have experience in the commercial, hotel, retail, and hotel design sectors in addition to your delivery of data centres.

There are three primary areas of focus for this role:
1) Technical/Project Management:
To provide input into the overall running of projects to ensure successful project delivery.
To review (QAQC) electrical drawings.

2) Leadership:
To lead and mentor the MEP project team.
To develop the Team’s effectiveness in project management and technical capability.

3) Business Development:
To contribute to the strategic development of the MEP business, including the positioning of the business within the local marketplace.

The Opportunity

Hands on concept and detailed Electrical design for a range of projects, in a lead discipline engineer role, providing design calculations, drawings and specifications. Facilitate and co-ordinate design activities, processes and other technical standards within the MEP team including the review and monitoring of technical standards in the team to ensure that design techniques, design review and check, reference material and software tools are up-to-date and are correctly applied. Undertake technical reviews of MEP projects (and MEP team input provided to other projects) at appropriate stages to ensure that the project approach and deliverables. Be part of a team that effectively wins and undertakes projects across the MEP and Buildings market within Malaysia and develop and maintain good relationships with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team’s activities. Supervise/prepare proposals/submissions and assist with negotiation of contracts within the MEP team’s framework for such activity.

Is this role right for you?

Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of detailed electrical design experience with an engineering consultancy. Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership. Has achieved a professional qualification in relevant area of expertise. Good working knowledge of relevant local and international legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines. Having Data Centre design experience is an added advantage.
