Our West Geography is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team - this role can be based in our San Francisco, Oakland or Los Angeles office. At Arup, we use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do. We are looking for a skilled Senior Engineer who is take the lead to aide designs for a wide range of projects including healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial and rail and provide leadership for the project teams and client goals.
Job Summary:
Lead the design of electrical systems for medium to large-scale, complex projects in sectors such as healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial, and rail, ensuring technical excellence and the achievement of broader sustainability and resilience goals. Attend client meetings, such as OAC (Owner, Architect, Contractor) meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment between all project participants. Take accountability for project success, including quality, timeline, and financial performance, while ensuring that client objectives are fully met or exceeded. Develop and review detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project objectives. Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure successful delivery within budget and on schedule while also, having the opportunity to manage projects independently as needed Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to clients and stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, helping them understand the design's impact on the overall project goals. Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level staff, providing leadership in both technical and professional development areas, encouraging continuous learning and growth. Provide timely feedback and recognition to team membersQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering 8 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings Ability to manage projects and prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working, present technical material for review by technical and non-technical audiences Experience with 3D BIM software - Revit MEPPreferred Skills:
Experience with design and analysis of renewable and distributed energy systems Professional Engineering License in US and LEED accreditation Experience with power system modeling using SKM or similar software. Ability to manage projects of varied scales would be preferredWhat we offer you:

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco is $125,000 to $160,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco will differ.
