Senior Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be part of a team responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining innovative electrical designs. This is a hands-on role, with the individual capable of creative and systematic product development with minimum supervision.

Essential Functions:

Leads the design, development, and debugging of electrical circuits for surgical robotic platforms based on system requirement documents

Designs electronics incorporating analog, digital, and microcontroller circuitry

Provides guidance on schematic design and PCB layout

Oversees junior electrical engineers on the team

Develops test fixtures and procedures, collaborating with software teams to ensure effectiveness

Supports manufacturing, internal testing, and addresses quality issues for external customers

Identifies root causes of electrical design issues and implements corrective plans for timely resolution

Ensures compliance with medical industry standards such as IEC60601-1

Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies

Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-7 years of experience, or Master's degree with 3-5 years

Expertise in analog and digital circuit design, including signal processing, A/D, D/A, and power

Proficiency with electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)

Knowledge of design for test principles, adept at analyzing and reporting results

Experience with schematic capture software, preferably Altium

Competency in PCB layout design and component selection

Experience with EMC/EMI testing, including regulatory standards and collaboration with NRTL

Experience with MCU architectures, proficiency in firmware coding, and FPGA and CPLD experience are desirable

Knowledge of circuit modeling software such as Spice, preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team collaboration

Self-motivation, proactive with excellent time management and organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
