Our Thermo King business is connecting our transport HVAC and refrigeration products and providing digital solutions to help our customers efficiently protect drivers, passengers, and cargo.  Using our connected solutions, our customers reduce fuel consumption, carbon emissions, and downtime while increasing the comfort and safety of passengers and shelf life of cargo, including essential cargo like food and pharmaceuticals.

Our Senior Electrical Engineer will work to research, design, and maintain products for the Thermo King North America Truck business.  The position will collaborate cross-functionally across multiple regions, and have frequent interaction with our global manufacturing facilities, dealerships, and customers as well as be responsible for delivering major New Product Development (NPD) programs that meet specific performance and Quality/Cost/Delivery goals.  The Senior Platform Electrical Engineer will also provide technical support to Q&R, Sustaining and VAVE engineering teams along with other functions, including Product Management, Manufacturing and Field Service.

Where is the work:  This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

  

What you will do:    

Generate, evaluate, analyze, and develop electrical harness design concepts for components and assemblies to meet product improvements, product options, and customer-specific product requirements provided by Product ManagementSupport Program Management Office in the development and execution of project and resource plans for major NPD programs, or in the case of smaller scale engineering change projects, the Senior Platform Electrical Engineer will be responsible to develop, maintain and execute these plans.Coordinate and collaborate with various Engineering support groups to develop technical management plan with mitigation plan for technical risks.Match existing and new technologies to market needs and opportunities.Ensure that DFMEA and DVPR processes are adhered to.  Ensure Laboratory and field testing activities adhere to our product development processes.Collaborate with internal cross-functional (Test lab, Manufacturing Engineering and Operations, Finance, Quality, Procurement, Service, etc…), cross-business unit Design Engineering and Manufacturing groups, and key suppliers to meet project deliverables.Ensure accuracy and completeness of Engineering designs, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, schematics, and test report documentationMulti-region travel up to 5% may be required

 

What you will bring:  

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and at least 5 years of engineering experience is required

Key Competencies:

Experience with vehicle electrical system design and harness / interconnection systemsExperience with electric machines, power electronics, and automotive networks (CAN for example)Proficiency with using electrical tools and instruments to perform tests, troubleshoot and gather data is expectedPro/Engineer or Creo Schematic proficiency would be an advantageExperience with new product design, technical problem solving, and tradeoff analysisAbility to quickly and efficiently understand, condense, and organize information to make informed engineering decisionsSelf-motivated with strong relationship building and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams spread across multiple geographical regionsDemonstrated ability to prioritize and support multiple projects. History of delivering programs that meet QCD targetsStrong project planning / management and organizational skills

 

Compensation:  

  

Base Pay Range: $ 77,000-$140,000
