**Description**
SAIC is seeking a **Senior Electrical Engineering Technician** to join our team in **Huntsville, AL.**
The Senior Electrical Engineering Techncian will be responsible for but not limited to:
+ This position will support multiple projects for the ARMY's Software Lifecycle Division of Precision Fires
+ Primary job duties will be fabrication/assembly/inspection of prototype and production level military cables, harnesses, assemblies/sub-assemblies (IPC/WHMA-A-620), PCB soldering (IPC J-STD), Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) fabrication/assembly, inspection/verification, and testing.
+ Candidate will provide or assist in providing technical solutions to engineering problems.
+ Candidate must have knowledge of military-level drawings and schematics and an understanding of IPC practices
+ Other duties will include research, design, development, modification, troubleshooting, and evaluation of a variety of electronic equipment, printed circuit boards, and systems using electronic principles, theories, and concepts.
+ Candidate must also have a basic knowledge of electronic bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multi-meters as well as a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
+ Update and enhance existing systems with new technology
+ Write reports and record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, and specifications to assist engineers.
**Qualifications**
**Education Requirements:**
+ Must possess a bachelor's degree and five (5) years' experience; additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
**Clearance Requirements:**
+ Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
**Required Experience/Skills:**
+ Knowledge of basic electronics and electronic components
+ Capable of soldering to include surface mount and micro soldering (Active IPC certification a plus)
+ Knowledge of mechanical assembly
+ Capable of interpreting drawings, schematics, and work instructions to a military level
+ Knowledge of basic hand tools to include DMC crimp tools
+ Capable of organizing workflow for multiple projects
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Visio and/or other drawing software knowledge a plus)
+ Willingness to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks and other basic shop equipment
+ Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repetitively within an 8-hour shift
+ Must have at minimum 5 years related work experience
+ Must be able to work as part of a team
