Job Description
As our new Senior Electrical Engineer, you will join our Engineering Department, consisting of a multi-discipline design/engineering staff focused on the industrial manufacturing market. You will focus on engineering solutions for our clients and supporting projects in offices across the US. You will be responsible for providing leading electrical engineering designs for our projects over the total life cycle, running from technical studies, front-end loading stages, detailed engineering design to constructability reviews. The Senior Electrical Engineer will perform complex assignments requiring the application of advanced engineering techniques for an entire project or selected segments of a complete project. The individual must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying advanced engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make major design decisions and direct the entire design team.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and engineer power distribution systems based on the National Electrical Code and client specifications.Design and engineer facility lighting systems.Design and engineer grounding systems.Develop power panel schedules.Design and engineer motor control systems.Design and engineer process control panels.Create process instrumentation wiring diagrams.Communicate and document effectively with project team, including outside contacts, customers, and other engineering departments.Review and analyze project requirements, codes, and standards to ensure compliance with regulations and client specifications.Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, subcontractors, and contractors, to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.Prepare proposals and fee estimates.Serve as a technical lead engineer for the quality review process of work products developed by others.Coordinate the work of other engineering disciplines into the final design deliverables.Train and mentor early career engineering employees.May be designated as a Project Manager for electrical engineering projects.Provide support for construction projects, including cost estimating, construction phasing/scheduling, site inspections, punch list development, and review of shop drawings.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.5+ years of qualifying engineering experience in the engineering/design field.Professional Engineering (PE) license or desire to pursue PE licensure.Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).Practical experience with engineering calculations (Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection Coordination, and ArcFlash) utilizing computer modeling software.Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).Practical experience with Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD MEP.Practical experience with lighting design software AGI32 or similar.Additional Skills & QualificationsSpecialized expertise in heavy industrial, manufacturing, and chemical plants.Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying advanced engineering techniques.Ability to train and mentor early career engineers.Work Environment
The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with flexibility. We offer a hybrid work model with 2 days in the office, and for the right candidate, we may consider 100% remote work. Our company emphasizes sustainability both internally and with clients. We work on both domestic and international projects, and we offer PTO based on years of experience in the field, up to 5-6 weeks. We also provide a hiring bonus program that can be used as a relocation bonus.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $67.30
