Are you a self-starter who possesses integrity and a willingness to learn and improve? We are seeking a Senior Electrical Specialist who will be residence-based in the Midwest or Southeastern, US. This individual may be asked to work throughout US, but primary responsibilities will be in our Industrial Gas (IG) South Subregion. This includes 64 locations in the Southeast, US. This role is a demanding position requiring strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and the ability to lead a crew of technicians.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Respond to operations requirements on a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week basisPerform and/or supervises the inspection, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and modification of induction and synchronous motors, transformers, high and low voltage switchgear, protective relays, switchgear starters, transformers, generators, distribution systems and associated equipment controls and protective equipment in Global Operations operated plants, joint ventures, subsidiaries, and third-party facilitiesResponsible to develop worn component refurbishment procedures and follow through on repairs and spare parts replacements based on electrical engineering recommendations and must be able to provide technical decision-making support for major equipment repairs Must be able to develop work scopes for equipment repair and overhaul to prepare and provide technical reports as well as enter information into SAP to provide accurate documentation on equipment and information to enable others in the organization to carry out their responsibilities effectivelyQualification and Requirements:
High school diploma, college degree technical school preferred, relevant experience will be given strong consideration in lieu of formal educationMinimum 5, preferably 10 years experience in the petrochemical and manufacturing industryExperience in low, medium and high voltage electrical equipment maintenance, start-up or commissioning environmentPractical knowledge relating to electrical distribution, motors and motor controls, conduit and wiring practices, lighting and grounding as well as familiarity with the National Electrical Code, particularly hazardous locations, is highly desirableDemonstrated supervisory skills, and safe work skillsStrong computer skillsTeam playerMust be able to lift over 50 lbs, comfortable working at heights and in confined spaceWork Hours/Benefits:
Residence position60-65 hours per week and travel away from home about 75% of the time.
