KBR Senior Electromagnetic Engineer to support our team at NAS Patuxent River, MD. You will join the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team working on innovative technologies to maintain air and sea superiority in support of the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) programs. You’ll support these efforts by performing electromagnetic interference (EMI) / electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) task efforts, which are segments of larger-scale projects/programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Study, review, and evaluate new or modified aircraft, complex avionics systems, communications equipment, sub-systems, and components and make assessments regarding the electromagnetic integrity. Independently determine electromagnetic environmental effects design requirements for new or modified avionics and systems. Assists EMI/EMC ground testing, flight-testing, and test program management.Review electronic systems’ circuit-level, board-level, box-level, and system-level design to ensure E3-related best practices are implemented. Advise avionics engineers on electromagnetic compatibility requirements and design approach. Perform risk analysis of electromagnetic environmental effects test results relative to their operational impact and/or to program goals. Establish E3 test criteria and review test procedures for proper test application. Oversee E3 box-level, ground, and flight-testing for the program office. Support transition of equipment from developmental status to fleet operational status.Provides E3 support to assigned PMAs and Class Desks for the entire life cycle of the system. PMA Integrated Product Team meetings, design reviews, test planning meetings and Fleet forums to mitigate programmatic and performance risks relative to electromagnetic environmental effects.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Clearance: Secret OR able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
Education: BS or BA degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline from an accredited US College/Institution.
Experience: 7-10 years of experience in an Electromagnetics Engineering position of which at least 3 years involved avionics systems or avionics integration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience supporting NAS Pax River, Electromagnetic Compatibility Test and Evaluation BranchDemonstrated experience/understanding of and with electromagnetic interference testing, E3 design, CONOPS, and the capabilities of UAS aircraft.Experience analyzing electromagnetic interactions with aircraft systems. Experience with the processes and procedures to coordinate and manage the use of the electromagnetic spectrum.Experience with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), their avionics, and Ground Control Systems in an operational environment.Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation: $120,000-150,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
