Software Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Software Manager to lead and manage our engineering team working on advanced medical devices for cardiac and vascular surgery, with a focus on cardiopulmonary bypass, intra-operative monitoring, and vascular grafting. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership and organizational skills to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for mentoring engineers, managing project timelines, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the team thrives in a fast-paced environment."


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership:
o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers to achieve professional growth and project success.
o Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
• Technical Oversight:
o Oversee the design, development, and testing of embedded software for medical devices using C , Linux, and VxWorks.
o Ensure compliance with IEC 62304 and other medical device software development standards.
o Oversee the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of software projects.
o Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices, including code reviews and documentation.
o Provide hands-on technical guidance when necessary.

Project Management:
o Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA, and UX/UI teams, to define project requirements and goals.
o Track progress and resolve blockers effectively.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Work closely with senior management to align engineering initiatives with business objectives.
o Communicate technical strategies and progress to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.
• Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:
o Ensure all software development activities comply with medical device regulations, including FDA, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304.
o Support audits and regulatory submissions by providing necessary documentation and technical expertise.
• Hiring and Retention:
o Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of engineering talent.
o Develop strategies to retain top talent and build a resilient engineering team."

Required Skills:
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in C , with experience in Linux and VxWorks environments.
o Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet).
o Experience with software tools for version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and static analysis.
o Strong programming experience in languages such as [specify languages, e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.].
o Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, architecture, and design patterns.
o Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Soft Skills:
o Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving business needs.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Preferred Skills:
o Experience with Onshore/Offshore Team collaboration.
o Background in managing distributed systems, microservices architecture, or AI/ML projects.
o Experience with real-time data acquisition and intra-operative monitoring systems.
o Knowledge of hardware-software integration in medical devices.
"o Familiarity with vascular or cardiac surgery procedures and clinical workflows. Deep understanding of IEC 62304, FDA 510(k) submissions, and ISO 13485 processes.
o Experience in risk management and hazard analysis per ISO 14971.
o Certifications in Agile, Scrum, or Cloud technologies are a plus.
