The Senior Embryologist will work closely with the Laboratory Director and participate in the daily operation of the human IVF and andrology laboratories. Provide day-to-day oversight and training of less experienced staff in the lab as it relates to basic and advanced procedures, and regulatory and administrative requirements of the lab. This position includes 'hands-on' involvement in clinical IVF laboratory work as directed by the Laboratory Director. This position requires a focus on patient service, maintenance of the highest technical standards and provision of the services and resources necessary to support Ovation Fertility. Will be expected to maintain CLIA and CAP standards regarding quality control/ quality management, procedural guidelines and day- to-day duties of the IVF laboratory.

What You'll Contribute:

Advanced skills in Embryo Freezing, Thaws, Retrievals, Embryo Checks, Egg Freezing, Transfers, ICSI, Biopsy, and Cell Loading Able to work and troubleshoot independently Makes appropriate clinical decisions, with little to no guidance Serve as trainer/mentor to others on team Assist Lab Director in preparation for audits Undertake embryology laboratory procedures as directed Attention to detail with an awareness and understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) treatment Comply with HIPPA privacy regulations Complete competency in latest technologies including, but not limited to: trophectoderm biopsy, oocyte vitrification, and complex micromanipulation skills Demonstrate advanced knowledge of reproductive biology including the male and female reproductive system Demonstrate excellent clinical skills and be able to lead and work in a team environment Must be comfortable with the physical handling of oocytes, embryos and semen including hazardous specimens Management of aseptic techniques Must be competent in the correct assessment and grading of oocyte, embryo and sperm morphology Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient logs and laboratory reports Communicate detailed information to patients, staff and regulatory bodies Provides support for CAP inspection preparedness and inspections Clear, professional and timely communication with staff, physicians and patients Participate in Continuing Technical Improvement exercises Maintain technical proficiency in routine laboratory procedures Assist in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to performance of the laboratory and individual technologists, and to specific research projects Delivers patient/customer services seamlessly across system boundaries Handles stressful patient/customer situations appropriately. Ensures patient/customer and family confidentiality, respect, safety and security Consults with embryology staff and Director about quality control concerns and advises Helps troubleshoot equipment issues Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and policies (including OSHA) are updated and reviewed annually by all Embryologists

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s of Science in Life Sciences or related field required; Masters Degree (or higher) in Reproductive Sciences or related field preferred 4+ years of IVF Lab experience (Advanced skills in Embryo Freezing, Thaws, Retrievals, Embryo Checks, Egg Freezing, Transfers, ICSI, Biopsy, and Cell Loading demonstrated proficiency in all routine embryology and andrology laboratory procedures including micromanipulation and biopsy of gametes and embryos) Ability to work weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis with other teammates Accredited by State as a Laboratory Professional if required American Board of Bioanalyst (ABB):TS certification preferred Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build and facilitate good working relationships with staff at all levels of organization Demonstrated ability exercising sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information Excellent organizational skills Ability to work independently, under pressure and within deadlines Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work as part of a team Good research skills Tech Savvy Flexibility and willingness to learn at all times Excellent multi-tasking abilities
