This position is responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives within the engine sensors segment, ensuring the alignment of projects with the organization's long-term objectives. This role is pivotal in managing the development, testing, and implementation of advanced sensor technologies, promoting innovation, and enhancing the company’s capabilities in engine sensor solutions. The Senior Engineer, Engine Sensors will also play a crucial role in talent development, cross-functional collaboration, and upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct the strategic planning, development, and execution of projects related to engine sensors to align with organizational goals Lead the engine sensors segment, managing budgets, resources, and project timelines to ensure successful outcomes and departmental efficiency Champion innovation in sensor technology and methodologies, overseeing the adoption of cutting-edge solutions and practices Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, mentoring staff, and developing leadership within the sensors team Serve as a key technical leader in organization, representing the engine sensors segment in decision-making processes and stakeholder engagements
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical required; Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
Experience: 5-8 years experience with direct experience in engine sensors
Skills:
Lead the development of the engine sensor segment within the organization, setting technical goals and objectives that align with the company’s vision and market demands Apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures to complete complex projects, with expertise in sensors, electronics, and software development for automotive applications Utilize skills in reverse engineering and sensor technology, demonstrating expert level proficiency in identifying tools and equipment required for high-quality sensor development Evaluate functional risk, develop and implement validation plans for sensor parts and related materials, and engage directly in high-risk projects (Design Verification Plan & Report - DVP&R) Oversee the development and management of the budget for the engine sensors segment, ensuring optimal resource allocation across projects Drive the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent in the engine sensors field, establishing a pipeline of technical leadership and expertise Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the sensors segment, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and methodologies Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure sensor projects meet business, customer, and market needs, delivering high-quality, innovative sensor solutions Represent the engine sensors segment in leadership meetings, providing insights into capabilities, project statuses, and strategic directions Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, managing risk and ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety in sensor engineering practices
