Senior Engineer, Oracle ODI Development
**Job Description** **Note:** This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week at one of the following office locations: St, Petersburg, FL; Memphis, TN; or Southfield, MI. **Job Summary:** As part of the Back Office development team, the Senior Data Engineer will take a critical role in building Enterprise Data Integration solutions by working on enterprise-class data integration initiatives. This team is responsible for application development, modification, maintenance, and support for the following areas: Corporate Actions, Securities Processing Back Office, and Securities Back Office KTLO. Work effectively with cross-functional teams and with Nonstop Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Architects and Service developers to build optimal and efficient ETL and Database code, leveraging data to drive original design ideas and decisions. **Responsibilities:** + Develop the most-complex existing and new Data Integration Solutions by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new data solutions to meet customer requirements. + Monitor, identify, and correct the most-complex defects to maintain fully functioning, reliable, scalable data solutions. + Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to develop low latency Data Integration solutions to provision data near real time for multiple consumers. + Focus on designing, building, and launching efficient and reliable data infrastructure to scale and compute to meet business objectives. + Works on and contributes to a projects successful completion as defined by predetermined project success criteria including those established by the business, capital expenditure and budget requirements. + Acts as an Application Support specialist for critical production applications and optimizes the batch flow to meet the defined SLA’s. + Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. + Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. + Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + More than five (5) years of experience as a Data Engineer or relatable skill set would be highly desired. + Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements. + Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on analyzing data from multiple sources to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations. + Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on monitoring, diagnosing and fixing technological problems. **Advanced knowledge of the following:** + Data Integration patterns/technologies. + Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). + Oracle as a database platform and PL/SQL. + Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience. + Experience in SQL tuning, tuning ETL solutions, physical optimization of databases. + Experience with TFS or JIRA or any other requirements management tool. + Experience with CI/CD practices and using software version control tools (e.g., GIT). + Experience working in Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid software development methodologies. **Experience with the following is a plus:** + AWS development experience using S3, SNS, SQS, MWAA (Airflow) Glue, DMS and EMR. + Experience developing data engineering pipelines using spark. + Building low latency Data Integration solutions. + Prototyping and automating Data Integration Processes. + Physical Performance Optimization of Oracle Databases. + Development experience using SQL Server and SSIS. + Experience with messaging platforms (e.g., IBM MQ). + Financial Services Industry knowledge. **Licenses/Certifications:** + None required. **Education** Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Computer Engineering **Work Experience** General Experience - 3 to 6 years **Certifications** **Travel** Less than 25% **Workstyle** Hybrid At Raymond James our associates use five guiding behaviors (Develop, Collaborate, Decide, Deliver, Improve) to deliver on the firm's core values of client-first, integrity, independence and a conservative, long-term view.
