Environmental Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join our multidisciplinary Technical Services Department. This role provides a pathway to become the Engineering Manager, responsible for creating designs and permanent solutions to complex engineering problems, and managing and developing personnel within the Engineering Group.

ResponsibilitiesLead teams of engineers to develop and implement remediation strategies.Assist with permitting and redevelopment of contaminated properties.Perform final review on work products produced within the Engineering Group.Design and implement pollution control systems related to soil, groundwater, air, wastewater, and hazardous waste cleanup.Scope projects, write proposals, prepare budgets, and present technical papers associated with projects.Manage and supervise 1 to 2 employees within the Engineering Group.Collaborate with managers in other groups and departments.Oversee work performed by the Engineering Group, including assigning tasks and reviewing work products.Identify, coach, and mentor Engineering staff to successfully complete projects.Ensure compliance with existing regulations and develop strategies with consultants.Design and develop in situ remediation strategies tailored to specific site conditions and contaminant types.Review remedial system data to evaluate efficiency and optimize performance.Prepare and submit permit applications to regulatory agencies.Essential SkillsLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in one or more states.8+ years of experience in environmental consulting.Experience performing engineering tasks in environmental consulting with no supervision.Environmental engineering experience or civil/mechanical engineering experience combined with environmental experience.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPersonnel management experience.Experience with environmental permitting.Experience with in situ remediation design.Air permitting compliance experience.Experience with spill prevention control, storm water plans, PPC, and wastewater discharge permits.Certifications such as OSHA Hazwoper 40 Hour Certification and/or General Industry 10 or 30 Hour Certifications are a plus.Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.Physically capable of operating vehicles safely.Work Environment
