Job & Division Summary:  Senior Engineer, PST Blr

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering professional to join our dynamic engineering team in Ingersoll Rand Engineering and Technology center, Bangalore.

This role involves leading and executing design engineering projects related to New Project Development and i2V/VAVE.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Lead and manage design and engineering efforts for assigned NPD and VAVE projects Verifies designs through calculation / analysis / computer aided modeling methods Develops test plans, and directs or executes testing activities (as needed) Create / improve product design data as required (3D models, 2D drawings, Bills of Material, etc.) Works independently, or as a member of a team. Responsible for multiple projects with varying scope and/or complexity Responsible for reporting and measuring progress on assigned projects. Ensure project milestones and deliverables with agreed Quality, Delivery, Project cost and Product cost for all phases of project Lead/support design reviews with cross functional team. Identify project related risks and work out mitigation plans Collaborate with peers from different teams and external resources to drive project for completion Previous experience must lie in Industrial / Commercial Product Manufacturing as an engineer developing, releasing, and improving products.

 

 

Mandatory Skills:

 

Strong in Engineering basics and Manufacturing principles Min. 5 years of Hands-on experience of working/executing New Product Development (NPD) and VAVE projects of Industrial products or Pump products at both Component and system level Proficiency in 3D Modeling and drafting, GD&T. Solidworks experience preferred. Must be able to develop relevant experiment designs, analyze data, form appropriate conclusions Organization Skills – tracks status of multiple projects.  Prioritization is key. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, Sheet metal, injection molding, die casting, investment casting and stamping. Knowledge of materials, heat treatments, and coatings. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and to make timely decisions with sound judgement. Communicates clearly.  Verbally can create “clear pictures” for others.  Unambiguous and decisive written communications (specifications, plans, presentations, etc.) Ability to work well in a team environment, to take direction, and to direct the work of others. Proactive, self-motivating with ability to develop own priorities Ownership mindset, one who can lead the project and work with cross function team to maintain project goal on specified time Conversant with Microsoft tools – Word; Excel; PPT; MSP

 

 

Desired skills:

 

Experience with Wind-chill PLM software is desirable. Experience with fluid pump product is preferred.

 

Qualification and experience:

 

4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering is required 5+ years of practical experience Competent with 3D, 2D parametric CAD preferably using Solidworks (Preferred) Proven success leading projects
