We are pleased to announce the opening for a Senior Engineer, who will join our Engineering Services Division in Huntsville, Alabama and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team that supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GM) directorate. The systems engineer will directly support the GM Chief Engineer and will work as part of an Integrated Engineering Team supporting activities and products related to the development, test, and integration of the GM System.
You’ll be:
+ Supporting the GM Chief Engineer (CE) in the review and development of critical GM engineering documents and products
+ Responsible for all monitoring, tracking, and coordination efforts associated with Task Management Tool (TMT) items/taskers requiring CE review
+ Responsible for all monitoring, tracking, and coordination efforts associated with any CE actions/documents not part of the TMT process
+ Supporting the CE by representing the interests of the customer in working group forums, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and any other forums required by the GM leadership
+ Reviewing Objective Evidence (OE) in support of requirements verification and milestone reviews
+ Support Engineering Milestone Reviews, boards and working level meetings by assisting in developing agendas and content, developing presentation charts, comprehending action items, and assisting in resolving issues as required, tracking actions to completion, providing meeting summaries, capturing lessons learned and any other duties as needed by the CE
+ Consolidating CE End of Week summaries and briefing CE on the content
+ Appling critical thinking, analytical/engineering skills and problem-solving methodology to identify problems, determine courses of action, develop paths ahead for task completion, formulate recommendations to the CE, provide statuses, and follow-up on task completion
+ Performing studies on process improvements and providing findings and recommendations to the CE
Basic Qualifications:
+ Master's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline required with 12 or more years of relevant experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects required
+ Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret
Preferred Qualifications:
•Demonstrated experience in the development and assessment of technical documentation (drawings, specifications, test reports, operator procedures) necessary to ensure the government’s ability to support fielding, operations and sustainment activities of the weapon system.
• Ability to assess and communicate technical findings/summaries in clear and effective way
• Solid technical writing and presentation development capability
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
• Self-starter who can identify challenges, search out solutions, recommend courses of action to leadership, and implement leadership direction
• Professional work experience in team building and project organization
• Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to effectively communicate across all engineering disciplines and with non-technical stake holders.
• Familiarity with GMD Weapon System and prior GMD experience desired
