Senior Engineer Failure Metallurgist

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Engineer Failure Metallurgist at Bureau Veritas Group in Islamabad. 

The Senior Engineer Failure Metallurgist will be responsible for tasks related to process control, metallurgy, extractive metallurgy, failure analysis, and leaching on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing documents related to metallurgy and failure analysis. Review and analyze test results and data to compile comprehensive failure analysis reports. Coordinate with foreign and local laboratories to perform metallurgical testing. Provide interdisciplinary coordination with Corrosion, Process, Design, and Quality departments to resolve technical queries. Prepare and/or review Request for Quotations, Scope of Work, Technical specifications, and datasheets. Assist proposal and estimation teams with bill of materials, engineering costs, and resolving client queries related to technical offers. Ensure on-time delivery of projects during proposal and execution stages. Support other departments and entities in evaluating metallurgical data obtained for various projects. Perform site-based jobs within Pakistan and overseas as required. Conduct replica works and coordinate with third-party service providers for projects and day-to-day activities.
 

QHSE Responsibilities:

Strive to achieve QHSE objectives. Implement and maintain QHSE management system. Participate in audits, meetings, and trainings. Establish effective communication channels within the department.
 

Qualifications:

BS degree or higher in Metallurgy or related discipline
Minimum 15 years of experience in Metallurgical testing and failure analysis with a renowned ISO 17025 accredited organization.


Certifications:

Preferred to have certifications/ trainings from ASM/ ASTM or equivalent.


Skills and Attributes:

Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in metallurgical testing techniques and failure analysis methodologies
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to travel for site-based work as needed
