A Senior Design Engineer position is currently available at Belcan in Queretaro, Mexico. This job is a full-time position with benefits. To be considered for this job you must have a minimum of +10 years engineering experience in an established engineering environment, with exposure to product component or system design with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Great matching candidates will have five or more years engineering experience in the engineering field of Turbomachinery design and/or analysis with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. In this job, you will lead multiple projects with responsibility for moving design evaluations from request to completion. The candidate will be required to communicate effectively with team members and management, utilizing verbal skills as well as written documents including plans, reports, and presentations.
Job Duties:
* Provide technical leadership for more junior members of the engineering team.
* Perform, review and mentor activities that include knowledge of the following: mechanical analysis, gas turbine engine component design, hand calculations, engineering documentation composition, component durability assessment, and engine manufacturing / build and test.
* Implement product definition criteria in accordance with requirements for commercial attributes associated with producibility/manufacturability of the component.
* The Senior Engineer will oversee and mentor the design of components and systems for Turbomachinery technology which mainly include hardware as brackets, ducts, tubes, hoses and harnesses
* Manage and maintain projects in priority status as assigned by program management.
* Maintain, report, and communicate project status and progress to both internal program management team and customer.
* Monitor and report progress against project schedule by monitoring activities and resolving problems to ensure that customer Project Milestones are met.
* Organize and maintain existing engineering records.
* Perform other such duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
* Five or more years of engineering experience in the field of gas turbine engines or turbomachinery, specialty on Engine externals design and/or analysis
* Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is highly desirable
* Experience using structural and simulation analysis system, ANSYS, is highly desirable
* Experience any of the following: Specialty on Engine externals design, fans, compressors, compressor wheels, compressor blades, compressor vanes, combustors, turbine wheels, turbine blades, turbine vanes, cases/housings, gears and gearboxes or tooling.
* Ability to write technical reports and correspondence including customer reports.
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
* Ability to coordinate and lead in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience with TeamCenter is desired.
